Paver Patio Installation in Cape Coral FL: What It Costs & What to Expect
Why Paver Patios Are Perfect for Cape Coral
Cape Coral's flat lots, canal views, and year-round outdoor lifestyle make paver patios one of the most popular—and most valuable—upgrades homeowners make. A well-built paver patio extends your living space, increases property value, and holds up to Florida's intense heat, rain, and humidity far better than poured concrete.
Types of Pavers for Cape Coral
Concrete Pavers The most popular choice in SW Florida. Affordable, durable, available in dozens of colors and patterns. Hold up well to Florida's UV exposure and won't crack in freeze/thaw cycles (we don't have those, but still).
Travertine Pavers Premium look and feel. Stay cooler than concrete in direct sun — a real advantage around Cape Coral pool decks. Natural stone texture. Higher cost but stunning results.
Brick Pavers Classic look that suits traditional and cottage-style homes. Extremely durable and relatively affordable. Common around Cape Coral's older neighborhoods.
Porcelain Pavers Modern, clean, and contemporary. Best for pool decks and modern design aesthetics. Low maintenance and stain-resistant.
The Paver Patio Installation Process
1. Site Preparation & Excavation We excavate 6–8 inches down, removing all existing grass and roots. Proper depth is critical for a level, stable patio.
2. Base Layer A compacted gravel base (road base or crushed concrete) goes in first. This is the most important step — a well-compacted base prevents settling and shifting for decades.
3. Sand Bedding A 1-inch layer of coarse sand is screeded perfectly level over the base. The pavers sit on this layer.
4. Paver Placement Pavers are laid by hand in the chosen pattern. Cuts are made with a masonry saw for edges and curves.
5. Polymeric Sand & Sealing Joints are filled with polymeric sand (hardens to prevent weed growth and ant invasion). A penetrating sealer is applied to protect the surface and enhance color.
