Our Curbing Rate — Published, Not Whispered
Search “concrete curbing Cape Coral” and you'll find pages of lead-generation sites that exist to sell your phone number, none of which will print a price. Here's ours: $10 per linear foot installed, the same on every written quote. The math is a tape measure:
Same rate for mower-edge, slant, and curb-face profiles in standard integral colors. Stamped and two-tone antiqued finishes are itemized upgrades. Very short runs are usually cheapest folded into other landscape work — ask when you call.
What $10/Linear Ft Actually Buys
Included in the rate
Quoted separately (never snuck in)
Extruded curbing is poured as one continuous ribbon by a curb machine, then jointed and finished by hand — which is why it follows curves plastic edging can't and why there are no sections to heave apart later. In our sandy soil the trench prep matters as much as the concrete: we compact the line before the pour so the curb isn't floating on loose fill.
Why Cape Coral Yards Are Switching to Curbing
Rock beds are taking over — reclaimed-water schedules and bone-dry springs make rock the low-maintenance play, but rock without a real border ends up in the lawn after one wet season. A concrete curb is the only edge with the mass to hold it.
St. Augustine is an invader. Floratam runners cross plastic edging in weeks. A curb with a proper footing is the one border that actually stops the creep, which means beds that stay beds instead of becoming lawn with mulch on it.
It finishes the picture.Fresh mulch and new plantings read half-done against a shovel-cut edge. Curbing is the frame on the painting — and at $10/LF it's usually the cheapest line item on a landscape install relative to how much it changes the result. On new construction it's the upgrade we recommend first — see our new-construction landscaping packages for how it fits a builder-basic yard.
Concrete Curbing — FAQ
How much does concrete landscape curbing cost in Cape Coral?
Our published rate is $10 per linear foot installed. That covers trenching, the continuous extruded concrete border, your choice of standard profile and integral color, control joints, and cleanup. A typical Cape Coral front-yard bed package runs about 120 linear feet — $1,200. Stamped patterns and antiqued two-tone finishes are itemized upgrades on the written quote. Very short runs are usually cheapest folded into other landscape work, so ask when you call.
Why is concrete curbing better than plastic or metal edging?
SW Florida's summer downpours float plastic edging out of sandy soil within a season or two, and metal edging rusts and heaves. A continuous extruded concrete curb has real weight and a real footing — it holds a rock bed in place, keeps St. Augustine runners from creeping into your mulch, and gives the mower a clean wheel line so string-trimmer scalping stops. It's the difference between edging you re-buy and a border that outlasts the plants behind it.
How long before the curbing can take a mower or foot traffic?
Concrete curbing cures in stages: keep everything off it for the first 3–4 days, and give it a week before the mower wheel rides against it. We cut control joints as we pour so seasonal soil movement cracks the curb at the joints — where it's designed to — instead of through the spans. In summer heat we pour early and mist-cure so the surface doesn't flash-dry.
What colors and styles are available?
The workhorse profiles are the 6-inch mower edge, the slant face, and the square curb face — all at the same $10/LF rate. Integral colors run from natural gray through tans, browns, and terracotta. On lots irrigated with reclaimed or well water we steer you away from whites and pale grays, which stain orange from iron in the water — a Cape Coral-specific lesson most brochures skip.
Does curbing work with rock beds?
Curbing is the reason rock beds work. Cape Coral has moved hard toward rock beds because reclaimed-water schedules and dry springs are rough on annual color, but rock without a solid border migrates into the lawn with every storm and mower pass. A concrete curb contains the rock permanently. We install curbing, weed barrier, and the rock itself as a package if you want one number for the whole bed.
