Shade Trees We Deliver and Plant
Shade trees take the most planning of anything in a yard: mature spread, distance from the house and pool, hurricane behavior, and what your city code or HOA requires. These are the shade and canopy trees we deliver and plant, from Florida natives like live oak, gumbo limbo and pigeon plum to formal choices like magnolia and Italian cypress.

Common questions
How far from the house should a shade tree be planted?+
Plant large shade trees like live oak at least 15 to 20 feet from the house, pool and septic, and keep them clear of overhead lines. Smaller trees can go closer. We site every tree for its mature spread, not its size on delivery day.
Do you plant trees for Cape Coral landscape code?+
Yes. Cape Coral's landscape code sets minimum tree sizes and grades for new construction and code work. We plant Florida Grade #1 stock at the size your permit calls for and can help you read the landscape requirements.
Which shade trees hold up best in hurricanes?+
Live oak and gumbo limbo rank among the more wind resistant trees in University of Florida hurricane studies, along with sabal palms. Planting depth, a good root zone and early structural pruning matter as much as the species.
